Emerald Lake Lodge

March 4, 2011.

This unique lodge, near the Contintal Divide on the eastern edge of British Columbia, is a very special place for both Jeanne and I.
                                                  The cabins
We have stayed here with family. We hatched the plans for our amazing year-long drive to Tierra del Fuego from Toronto via Alaska, along the Pan-American Highway, while in the dining room of the lodge.

View of Lake from our cabin.
Here we have hiked, climbed, canoed, fished, skied, and dined more than once. And we have seen some most interesting animals, plants and birds – in winter and summer. It has been a home base for us.

We have enjoyed the beauty of the lake, surrounding mountains and forest – in winter and summer.
Vehicles are left away from the lodge and cabins
And we have cherished the awesome silence. Both of us will be back.
Jeanne & Paul
PS: There is an excellent book about the history of this lodge entitled "Emerald Lake Lodge - A History and A Celebration" by Robert William Sandford.
